Aeneas, Anchises and Ascanius by Bernini. Not my photo. "The group sculpture represents Aeneas fleeing from the burning city of Troy bearing his elderly father Anchises on his shoulders, and his son Ascanius carrying the sacred fire of the hearth, while Anchises holds the ... family household gods." Each of the characters is sculpted superbly to reflect their age, and the expressions on their faces ... they're just lost. We saw this at the Borghese Gallery in Rome, and I fell in love with Bernini.
