'Hair of the Dog' - Beer Bar Review

Hair of the Dog is on Church, a block north of College. Lots of room across two floors plus a nice patio facing onto a side street. The rooms are comfortable with quiet music. It gets noisy as it gets crowded later in the evening, but it's the people rather than the music or TVs and I'm okay with that.

The beer selection is really good: they have 10-12 taps with local brews (including two brewed specifically for them - a friend said the Lager is good). And the list of bottles and cans runs to another 40 or 50 varieties. I had the KW Craft Cider - a little innocuous, but fairly good, and the Henderson's Best ESB (ironically not very bitter at something like 19 IBU), also fairly good.

The food got mixed reports: the Fish Tacos looked really good and were reported to be excellent. But the burger another friend got was apparently a bit dry and lacking in flavour. I had just a dessert, a Lemon Curd Tart, which was quite good.

I really liked the place and will definitely head back if I'm in the area again.
